PH1 172 front springs - replacement info

Car  2001 X Reg 172 PH1
Hi

I have a broken front drivers side spring which i need to replace. I am going to replace it myself using the help on these forums.

I dont want it lowered or anything like that , just want a straight replacement front spring (or front springs as i believe its better to replace both at same time)

Ive searched through these forums but Is there a specific renault part no i need so i can source correct spring off the internet. Or is there an equivalent non-renualt spring thats just as good (or cheaper / or better) i should use? I usually try ebay for parts as a first stop.

Roughly what am i looking at paying?from what i can tell it could be anything between 30 to 50 quid per spring, does that sound about right?

Cheers for you help

Renault springs are very expensive, if I were you, I'd buy a set of Eibach Prolines.

They do give a tiny drop (about 10-15mm) which wouldn't even be noticeable and are a lot cheap and arguably better quality springs too.

It'd be cheaper to buy a full set of the above springs than two Renault items I believe.

I'm pretty sure I have a set of front and rear springs and shocks lying around that I would sell if your interested

Thanks for the reply Rob, where is best place to get the Eibach Prolines ? and is there a specific spec / part no i need to be quoting / looking for?

Looking across the forums most people im reading about seem to have 172 cups , whereas mine is just the normal ph1 172 , not sure if being a cup make a difference with springs but just want to make sure i pick up the right ones..

Cheers

One other thing just searching through the forums ? is 8200257954 the standard renault part code for an original renault replacement for my non-cup car?

Cheers

Cheers Rob , i will look into those , if i can be sure they wont give any more than the 10-15mm drop i'll probably go for them.

Domjolly , any probs with above i may get back to you , thanks for the offer.

Cheers for the help ,
