noticed at lunch today just as i was getting back to work the temp gauge slowly creeping up above half way, nothing serious it was a hot day, parked car and cooling fan was on. went to work. then on short drive home just as was near house same thing happened again, so i parked up, switched off engine popped bonnet and left cooling fan on, then looking underneath car there is coolent on the ground and i can obviously the level in the coolent bottle has dropped. so iv topped it up with water, obviously not driving it, cant see anything obvious under the bonnet, checked oil cap and all fine, at no point did the car overheat, so im hoping its either a split hose or a leak from the radiator???? going to drop it off at the garage 2 mins down the road from me where a friend works and let him look at it. any ideas??

get it up on a ramp and find the leak, also check the water pump and aux belt for moistness..

moistness..isn't that a great word?

roughly where was the wet patch under? if it's a leak, the obvious culprits would be the water pump, a hose, or the radiator. look for white furry deposits to help locate the leak

never thought about water pump, filled the coolent up and couldnt see anymore water dripping underneath, this was with engine off. roughly id say its either just under radiator or just behind the radiator. hard to tell tbh.
