ph1 172 or 197?

  Petrol Blue 182.
me and tezza are arquing over which one he should purchase, which one would you have? the 10k car or the 2k one? which are both good, personally id have the 172.

If you do little mileage and want a car to heavily modify, be that stripped out track **** or show car, then I would say the ph1 172.

If you want a new(er) car that you dont have to worry about and will leave standard(ish) then the 197

^^ yes, i wont be doing any chavvy stuff staying standard and getting tired of spending dead money on all my old clios! could have brought a new one by now lol

Modding doesnt have to be chavvy, stripped out track slags are sexy!

BUT...

If its staying standard, get a 197 imo

the 197 for me, im probably gonna make enemies by saying this BUT the ph1 is starting to look a little dated compared to the new 197 clio...the ph1 might be retro cool for some but based on reliability, milage etc i would rather a new car which has a similar performance to the ph1

I know what you mean mate, my brother turns 17 in august, done some quotes for him on my old 1.2 8v...3rd party cover only on confused.com.. wait for it...

£2,600     for 3rd party on a 1.2! & that was there best quote! unreal.. no wonder so many young drivers have no insurance now days, my 172 is £1,700 fully comp & i thought that was steep

Thats what i thought too mate, although still strugling with any where under £1,500 may reg it in my mums name & have to do it that way as paying for the car, lessons, test & insurance he's going to be working 7 days a week just to drive lol

as said entirely depends on what you want, if you want a warranty go for the 197, if you want a car you can mod and track go for the ph1. I bloody love mine

  Mustang, S13, AX GT
I had this dilemma when I was lookin around, then I test drove the 197 and erm, bought 1. Go for the 197 unless you really wanna spend a fortune on mods imo
