ph1 172 standard suspension dilema

  Trophy #473
Knowing my suspesion is getting a little sloppy and just passed 70k I had alrady bought myself a new set of top mounts as the ones on at the moment sound like they have become dust. but before fitting the new ones Im contemplating getting new suspension.

First port of call would be second hand late FF172 suspension, would this fit? i presume it would. also are they the same spec as the ph1?

172 cup suspension?

late 182 (or cup sus if it would fit) suspesion?

Im not after a suspesion kit, but i am also thinking of changing the dampers to adjustable ones but keeping the same ride hight, but having more control over the dampening. dont know if its worth it with standard springs (maybe 172 cup ones?)

I dont know what fits so please enlighten me. dont want to buy brand new reno if i can help it.

thanks

Personally when I wanted a refresh of my suspension I went with standard Renault shocks and a set of prolines and it's great.

Under £200 from Renault for standard stock items which isn't too bad. Are there any benifits of using the late FF172 items??

only reason for using FF172 items are that they are newer and would be cheaper than brand new ones.

Why not by Renault stuff its better than 99#5 of the stuff out there?

FF stuff will fit 182 stuff won't it can be made to.

Adjustable dampers cost a fortune for decinet ones. get new Renault there way better quality build ooo and Renault spent more money developing them than most other suspension places.

my thoughts entitrly, I just would prefere not to spend £££ on new gear if late spec 1*2 gear is the same and cheaper second hand, that was my reasoning, adj dampers were and idea as I had them on my mk1 and I couldnt fault them.
