Ph1 and Ph2 bootlids.... Are they the same?

  2004 ph2 172
I Picked up a bootlid from the scrappy the other day. I've now stripped it of parts and glass, and have filled the minor dent, blanked all the holes etc, and when I next get some spare time I'll start on preparing it to rip a pair of moulds from it.

The thing is, I'm not sure if I got the lid of a Ph1 or a Ph2... and I'm hoping they're the same so that there's not a 50-50 chance that I've wasted my time...

So um... are the lids the same? :D

Cheers,

/Nick

The lock/handle is different. If your mystery one has a Renault diamond in the middle and a button with NO lock - it's a ph2. If there IS a lock and a small handle - it's a ph1.

Rip a mould from it ? Making a grp copy or similiar
Carbon: and not just a "Carbon skin with fibreglass underneath". I'm on a fairly serious mission to save weight - given that local regs allow for zero engine turning. :dapprove: 3mm polycarb to top it off in due course. The same kind of thing will happen to the bumpers and bonnet when I have time.

Bumsocks: That bit was missing... either that or I stripped and discarded it there and then. So... the lids are the same pressing, but the plastics are different? I think I can cope with that :)

Cheers! :)

May save you a bit of time

Maybe... but time I have, and I'm a seriously hard-core nerd who builds RC gliders using carbon fibre... I reckon I can set records for lightness and stiffness at the same time :coffee: Once I've made all the parts I'll get onto the conventional stuff and do a thread :)
