Ph1 Little Service & Clean

Got some bits sorted on the Clio yesterday round at TheEvilGiraffe's place, unfortunately not the "clicking/ticking" noise I have....

Oil / oil filter change, two new balljoints, air filter clean and a full on wheels off clean.

Whilst I cracked on with taking s**t apart, other Rob took all the wheels off and gave them a very thorough clean, once the balljoints and oil were done other Rob snowfoamed the car: (enough chat, on with the pics)

Apologies if they're pants, they're straight off an iPhone, no editing..

Then, we did all sorts of cleaning stuff (the car was hanging) and it ended up like this:

I quite like the plates, going abroad with no messing around is nice, only reason I'd change it is if I went 3/4 height on the front.

I have F1's, It's just silly to take these wheels off before I've made the most of these wonderful tyres.

Once the tyres are knackard, the wheels are offski.

Find a breaker or sort bits separately! It's honestly not hard if you put your mind to it! Most random interior bits are impossible to sell so you can get them for peanuts!!!!

Just start collecting parts, then I'll answer all your questions as you go along

Mine needs the full works. I haven't cleaned it since FCS and you were nasty about it's state even then. Plus I hit a bird on the way to Trax and there's still feather/blood residue on the front.

But it's rained loads since then, so God has basically cleaned it for me.

Re: The wheel, do it! It's actually a rather cheap one, and the polyeutherane as opposed to leather feels great. 300mm is an absolute joy to drive with too!

They are generally siezed right on but it's still easy to do. If they need doing bring it to mine, have them off in half hour.

Lol, Nope track rods ends are about £12 quid each, wish bones with the balljoints are £33 each and you will proabaly be in need of top mounts like most clios. The top mounts will depend on how much you want to spend really.

Track rod ends I need doing mate... also need to fit ANOTHER passenger side shaft (kill me).

I should have it by the end of this week.. FFS.

Just looked and found the old MOT - "Slight play in steering rack bushes" WTF are those?

Come to me in a couple of weeks drag luke along and bring a crate of peroni.

steering rack bushes are those 'U' bolts thats clamp the rack down. I think they have a rubber insert that perishes iirc.
