Just came out of the house an hr ago to find the lowest scummiest car thief parked long side the 172. I got in drove roughly a min to the next street parked and came through an alley to find him gone, this has unsettled me and got me slightly worried.

So im basically wanting to know can Ph1 172s get taken without keys and is it time for an alarm/steering lock ?

cheers

Should have a factory fitted immobiliser/alarm, which would make it difficult to take without the keys.

saying that i'm not a thief though so i have no idea how easy it would be. Im not sure i want to know just how simple it would be to take one.

They'll prob break into you'r house, an steal you'r keys....then probably rape you and drive off into the darkness with an empty sack and a new car. Good luck x

I can't see anybody going to a great load of trouble to get a ph1 172. I'd think it will probably be an opertunist theif.

Easy to get into but with an alarm and two immobilisers (one on the alarm and one in the key) it should be quite hard to steal

Most modern cars are not easyly stolen compared to old heaps like nova's and 106s so i wouldent think you would be in the pikey theif range.

And not really a professional theifs target car chances are he was looking at your "Sik 2ltr bruv"
