Its advertised at £1100, and they guy says it needs some tyres and brake pads to get it through the MOT (obv this is most likely not true)

Sounds very dodgy to me. Asking £1100.00 needed all that! I always thought that belts were due to be changed at 5 years or 65,000 miles whichever came first! I wouldn't be paying anymore than £700 for that as you could find it needs even more doing once you get it on a ramp.
What's the bodywork like? Price up how much everything is going to cost to get it on the road and ready to drive, Belts, discs, pads the works! Doesn't sound like its been looked after which is never a good start with a Sport!

Tooooo easy to get an MOT from A.Blokedownthepub so he can sell it with 12 months ticket, then when it all falls apart 2 weeks later, you've got to foot an enormous bill or your own funeral.
Plenty of cars coming up for sale. Keep hunting.

Mate, Ive just turned down a ph1 in Surrey with 53k on the clock. I've made him an offer which he was pretty insulted buy but there are reasons behind it for me. Cant garauntee if it'l be a perfect runner, I almost bought it! Check the thread 'If you were me and I were you'. Send me a message if you want the link, its on autotrader.
If you're not embarrassed by your first offer, you've offered too much!
I'd walk away from that.

Also don't know what other hidden probelms it miight have.
