Ph1's

They dont have sunroofs (or atleast iv never seen one with a sunroof!)

The alloy bonnet: you will know if it has one because its so so light lol i was amazed when i liften my bonet, thought someone had put a replacement one on until i asked on here.

Good luck with your search!

That's the only one I've ever seen with one tbh, so I have no idea, its the only thing that scares me off that car.

Maybe you could phone Renault Uk and ask???

Could it be an import? Imports could have had sunroofs?

Also, it does look very OEM

It looks OEM. I ran it through my insurance quote online and the number plate comes up with clio 172 renault sport. I may investigate further.

Could be parting with mine soon if your interested send me a pm...

Just had brand new td's with Parada's all round and a new clutch...£££

Id guess it was retrofitted, i know 2 companies that will fit OEM style sunroofs to pretty much any car

i've had my ph1 172 for 2-3 weeks and fallen hard for it, never gonna sell it. you wont regret it if you can find a good one, i paid 1850, good condition, standard, did need a cambelt thou and had a leaky shock so add up that it cost me 2400/2500.

The sun roof has really put me off it. I hate the sun roof in my 1.4 lol. Just had someone pm with one that sounds perfect though :) Just not up for sale yet lol.

I replied to your post about my car, but the thread was deleted. Not too sure about the sunroof to be honest. Its a Webasto sunroof, and is electric. It has an auto-close function as well when you open the drivers door. With regards to the aux belt snapping and taking the cambelt with it, all the repair work was done by Renault. I am friends with the technician who carried out the work, and he was a Renault Master Technician, and also runs a 172 Cup himself. I must admit, i'd prefer it without the sunroof, but it is quite nice in the summer.

Yh i noticed the thread deleted and i got a mod to send me the link to your pistonheads advert.

The cambelt is no longer a worry for me. Im just a bit sceptical about sunroofs and the bodywork/chasis of the car. I thought the renault sport clios didnt have sunroofs to make the car more structural.

So did I! I'm baffled as to why someone had it fitted, as the car has a/c. The car still feels very good with it fitted. I'm in no rush to sell so have a think.

I will dude. Im going to ask around and see what people think to the sunroofs on them and affecting the handling.

Il be in touch ;)

Dont get one with a retro fitted sunroof it really is a pointless edition and dare i say put people off buying it when you yourself come to sell it

Ph1 the only way to go, dont have a 172 myself but you want lots of history and if it well looked after and loved then its a little bit of resurance.
