Phase 1 172 Dash wiring

Hello,

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for a 172 dash loom?

Also, does anyone know if the looms are universal, i.e. would the loom out of a 1.2 clio of the same age have the same plugs / fittings etc and be good enough to run the dash (if wired in properly)?

The dash is to go in my Reno 5 which is running a 172 turbo engine.

Why use the whole dash?

To loom is much like a normal car one realy but for your need just wire up the ECU etc.

Looms are differencnt though. You cna make a none sport one work but not worth the hastle realty

I will be using the Reno 5gtt loom as it would be a big job to cut it out and replace it, as I'm using standalone management I dont need it to run the engine.

All I am interested in is getting things like the Rev counter, dash lights, petrol gauge etc etc to work.

So I could do with a wiring diagram that shows which pins on the dash plugs do what...

e.g. this is the sort of thing we have for the Renault 5's from the workshop manual... and each pin is detailed on a wiring diagram...

Just need to be able to splice the plugs for the 172 clocks etc onto the old gtt ones...

Are the connectors on a a normal clio's clocks the same? I.E. could i use those plugs to connect it all up?

Well, been busy today fitting the dash... Its not a bad fit tbh, need to get hold of a 172 steering column and cover but appart from that is looking good...



Any one got any idea about the wiring diagram then?

Surely there must be one for the 172? or even a normal clio?

Yeah, took a bit of cutting / welding etc but the dash itself wasn't too bad a fit.. Just need to wire the bits and bobs in!!

Has anyone got a Clio Haynes? for the mk3 clio? If so can you see what quality the wiring diagrams are? I don't want to spend £20 on a manual to find its not got enough detail!
