Howdy all, Ive just bought a phase 1 172 and its a bit of a shed
Its my first RS, in the past Ive had a full spectrum of other sheds, MX5, AX GT, Dutton kit car, Capri, Porsche 924, tried to go sensible with a TDI Passat estate but got bored stiff by it working so well, have just swapped it for the 172.
So, its got nearly a years test, some service history and visually is not as sheddy as it probably is underneath.
Things I hate so far (30 miles in rush hour); Really daft loud exhaust, rock hard cheapo lowering springs, Halfords 17" alloys with ditch finder rubber bands, knackered engine mount, slightly sticky throttle, does not lock!
Things I like, ummm, I know what I want it to be like.
Plan is... it will be my daily driver but also looking to do some club motorsport too. Ive done Autotests/Autosolos before and will definitely be doing that but also looking at Sprints and Hillclimbs. In the next few weeks I will be getting it back to as close to stock as possible, then getting to know it properly before thinking about any mods in the new year.
Will shortly be selling the mod bits Ive bigged up so much above or more than happy to swap/deal on standard bits.
