phone contract/upgrade

I am due a new phone on my contract but i want to change my tariff to something different.

If i ring up orange and they won't give me what i want can i ask for the pac number so i keep my number?

Orange are really bad to existing customers and they won't give you the new tariffs/offers ifyour an existing customer!

So if i get the pac number can i then go into an orange shop as a prospective new customer and get a better contract if you see what i mean?

aslo i would like the w800i as it does all i want it to do, but i am REALLY put off by all the problems peopel have with them for music transfer. I would like an mp3 player and it would be idea to be on my phone and i also use itunes on my computer.

Any thoughts on a good phone instead of the w800i or should i risk it?

I have a w800 on orange.. no real problems... i dont use disc to phone as its rubbish! I just use my bluetooth to transfer all my MP3's!

yeah i bought one from ebay for £8! as long as the tracks are 128kb or less then its fine! if there not i use adobe audition to put them all out at the same kb and also use mp3 gain (which is free) to make them all the same DB! I have adobe audition if you need it.

The bloke who owns it is proper minted!! he owns loads of classics all in mint condition! has one of the first 911's and it looks like its just rolled out the factory! got a really old aston, bentley etc etc!

a pac number is a 'porting authorisation code' it allows you to transfer your number to another network (there is a time limit of like 30 days, if you don't use it you will loose the phone number)

I have heard that they can't refuse to give it to you, as its yours by law.

T- mobile were utter sh*t when I wanted to get it from them, so i went into the shop & got them to ring up.

i may have to go down that line, i want about 200 mins any network any time and 200 texts. i guess that would be about 30 quid. plus i want the w800i for free.

No point in getting the w800i when the 900i is now out.

Vodaphone do it in a white colour and it has 1/2 a gig internal memory as standard with an opportunity for more with card slots. its also a walkman phone like the w800

The picture quality is out of this world. I have compared 2 photos, 1 from a 2mp w900i and 1 from a 2mp D600. The w900i's picture is so much better!

Very cool phone, although a little larger than the w800 but no larger than the likes of nokias new phones N70/N91 etc.

I got it free on vodaphone on a 12 month contract for £40 a month (500 x network/100txts/50video calls)

how exactly do you type on the w900i then? doesn't appear to have a number pad!

The phone swivals for the keypad, it makes it quite a bit bigger but you don't need the keypad for everything.

You can only get the W900i on O2 and Vodafone (white). Orange don't plan to have this on there network.

cool, cheers chap. looks quite smart. is it massive though? any other good recomendations? i had a motorola mpx200 when it first came out and i really liked it. well simple to get tunes on it, and it went on the internet. any good smartphones on orange? i went on their website and it is turd for looking thorugh stuff. really confusing.

No its not massive, its the same size as any flip phone.

You only need the keypad swivel for texting really!

Best phone out at the moment in my books!

IMO it's big, slightly bigger than the k750, chunkier then it becomes huge with the flip round

i just bought another k750, and highly recommend them, cannot stand nokias, though the d600 is owned by a couple of people at work, looks pretty good on 1st impressions

w900 is horrible IMO - much prefer the w800, w900 is too chukcy and huge when its open!

Makes a big difference! W800 has far too many reliability issues and the w900 looks nicer! Dont like the orange colour of the w800! Looks cheap!

yes i've viewed it, hence knowing it's dimensions

i do not like the siza/appearance of the phone, and i'm happy i chose the k750 again

I have seen it!!! i dont like it and my w800 has had no reliability problems! Im not saying its a bad phone. great features etc but not for me! but if we all liked the same phone.... it would be boring!

3 great featured phones.... all down to which you prefer the look of in the end as features are all pretty much on a level!
