Planned mods

Ok so Im planning on getting about 2k worth of work done all at the one place so was thinking of k-tec.

Planning:
Billet camshaft
Adjustable vernier pullys
KTR Sport Cat
KTR/Janspeed ultra perfomance (depending on reviews!)
Pipercross carbon induction kit
ECU re-map

Anyone got any coments about would I could do to get more power for my money. Power is every thing!

You may see some noticeable gains from that but tbh in my books noticeable gains come in the form of forced induction, especially on a 4 cylinder.

Basicly cookie is right, for what you'd spend making the clio a bit quicker you could spend the difference (+ the value of your clio) buying something that had some proper potential. I'm not saying performance aint achievable with a clio but @ £3k+ for a turbocharger (it's the only thing that when you plant your foot will actually seem like you've transformed the car) you might aswell look else where.

The best thing you can do with a clio is get the most from it's handling and poss upgrade that once your past it's limits, that is what a clio does best.

You wont get a 3k turbo conversion... double that!

Save another grand and go get ITB's

I just got new brake discs and pads all round. can i do a 4 pot conversion and still use the standard discs and pads?

All the Fort boys have Evos and Scoobs. You'll need to spend at least 6k to keep up.lol

true alot of them do! i am planning on getting the turbo conversion but that is a while away yet! I just want to get all the smaller mods i can the now!

220hp (claimed) turbo low pressure kit £2.7k inc vat

Bin the verviers though no need get the intake manifold worked though.

what do you think would be better in the long run keeping in mind that im going to be getting the k-tec turbo conversion at some point? do k-tec also do inlet manifolds?

I have got pretty much the same as what you want to get. You are always going to be squeezing the last few brake horses out of an already highly tuned engine. You will get a nice increase but its alot of money to spend.

Definately get some coilovers and try and shed some weight with lighter wheels 4pots get rid of the back seats etc. before you tune the engine.

I have been looking at the ktec turbo conversion after my ITB install got put back a year. Its very temting to buy the kit for around 3k and fit it myself. 260bhp and 260lb/ft makes your cammed ITB install of 225bhp and 175lb/ft look weak.

nah, spend £6k and nothing but the top end Evo's will be able to see which way you went. Mine's realistically only 220-230bhp and quicker than 320bhp Evo's. Even from standstill I'd reckon by 100mph I'd be starting to reel them in and pass with some momentum

ITB? Im not planning going totally mental with the car and striping it down to bare shell kindo thing! I still want to be able to use it. Is 225bhp 175lb/ft what you got outs yours after the mods that i have listed? I dont have the required knowledge to even think about doing a turbo conversion myself altho i do have a mate that works at Juno racing that might manage it!!

I was under the impression verniers were'nt needed on the clios as the pulleys are friction mounted as a pose to bolted with a lug through it?

Mine is around 195bhp and 170lb/ft.

What is a cammed ITB install??

When you have cams and throttle bodies, It will include an aftermarket management such as Omex too.
