Plastic Engine Cover

Apart from making the engine bay look good when your bonnet flies up and you have to get the AA out, is there any other reason for the plastic engine cover?

Mine rattles when I accelerate so I took it off and tested it and it was ok. I did put it back on as I wasn't sure if it provided any waterproofing to any parts. I realise the cup doesn't have it so thought it can't be that.

Any reason to keep it on?

It's just 'dressing' mate. Take it off if it rattles, either that or secure it properly

Yep, just aesthetic. The Cups don't have one so it must weight a tonne as well!

mine rattled,i tried stopping it rattling,put it down to being french and now its not rattling in my garage lol

The Trophy does'nt have one eaither, TBH the only time I like them is when they have been colour coded to match the car.

I really dont miss not having one on the car.
