playstation 3 to monitor?

hi people,

my cousin is asking if he can rig his ps3 up to a monitor to get the better quality picture as he hasnt got a hdtv

hes currently got his xbox360 hooked up to the monitor via the vga connection cable

ive told him i think they do a dvi to hdmi cable which i think is the same idea as the vga cable for the xbox 360.

i said i would ask on here,

am i right?

There certainly is ways to convert hdmi to dvi. dont know if there is an official lead for it though.
