Want to start on my car tomorrow but I have no idea which one of these pads are which.

Supposed to be....

Lake Country cutting pad
Sonus SFX1 & 2 Pads
Sonus SFX3 Spot pad

But when I go on the websites that sell these they are different colours :mad:

Here is a pic of the pads I have.

Please help :eek:

My Sonus DAS pads are different... sure you haven't been sent the wrong ones?

White = SFX1
Orange = SFX2
Green = SFX 3
Blue = Wax
Blue & Bonnet = buffing

That Orange one looks like a MEnzerna pad over a Sonus one...Plus a Sonus SFX2 is white.

Have you used a polisher before??

Nope

if not then a rotary is a big start

Will be fine ;)

Be VERY careful if you're a novice with a rotary. Can't help you with what pad is what I'm afraid.

#1 - Red is the spot pad, finishing one. Either SFX 1 or 3, whichever is softest (I can never remember whch way round it goes.

# 2 - Is as above, Menzerna as said above. http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polishing/menzerna-polishing-pads/menzerna-polishing-pad/prod_213.html

#3 - Lake Country pad - http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polis...lake-country-yellow-cutting-pad/prod_275.html

#4 - is the old colour Sonus pad. It's either 1, 2 or 3, (obviously discount whichever number #1 is, says on the package I think?) I think it's a 2 though from my memory.

you can id Menz pads easily as they're 5", not 6"

that orange one - if it's 6", it could be the 'ultimate compounding' pad that someone sells for twice as much as you can buy them from MachineMart for:quiet:

tbh, you can buy stuff that looks identical to well known brands from unbranded sources - there's no real way you can be sure of what you've got there imo. just start with the softest

What are u talking about re the machine mart thing???

MachineMart sell a selection of velcro backed pads for less than a fiver each. the orange ones 6"x25mm have done me well, although i'm not at all into this sort of thing
