Plenums and EGR

  Clio 172 Cup
Hi all :D

Newbies first post.. recently got myself a good Ph2 172 Cup, and not one to stick with the standard motor I`ve started a few mods, which has posed me a question already!..

I`m sure I`ve heard rumblings in the past of owners disconnecting the EGR and removing it, and this would fit in nicely with me putting on a much nicer Ph2 RS lower and a nicely modded plenum, also Ph2, sooooo... A couple of questions if some helpful and knowledgeable person could help!?

Firstly... Apart from doing away with putting dirty oxygenless gas back into the engine, what are the pros and cons.. And secondly, how does me do it!? :approve:

Thanks in advance kind person!

Ok, my mistake in the beginning :S.. The car itself is a ph1.. cable throttle and all that, EGR is situated on the right rear of the plenum..

I think you are looking at the ICV, It control's the idle of the car.
As above, the F4R does not have an EGR.

Thanks for your input guys, much appreciated, and it does look very much like the ICV but it`s not on the throttle body assembly but directly connected through the boss at the rear of the plenum, I did note Fred`s comments from a while back on an old image post re the same question, and obviously a very knowledgeable guy. Renault clearly put their cars together with whatever happens to be on the shelf at the time, same model, same year, same engine, put together completely differently!

Lol. Set the records straight, who ever said EGRs are on turbo'd engines,.. That's incorrect, vaxhualls use EGRs on petrol N/A engines :)

But yes the F4R hasn't got one. Fred is so useful, i wouldnt egnore what he says!
