It reduces the throw very slightly but it's about precision not a 'quick shift'. The synchros are weak enough in the JC box as it is, you don't want to change gear any quicker you just want to get it in the right gear every time! There is no play in the linkage as it uses bearings throughout, the only play you will feel is what's in your gearbox selectors.

Nick, I wasn't so worried about it being a quick shift as such, I can full well understand that a typical gearbox would start to suffer if you tried to change any quicker.

Nick Cup's question is very good.
the standard setup I had adjusted/altered to move the gearstick back towards the driver, mainly as I'm quite tall and the seats are sat back a fair way.
is the adjuster within your pictures able to cater for that?

The kit has been designed predominantly for track use so getting the knob in a good place was high on the list of priorities. The gearstick is a fair bit further back already and a lot higher so it should cater for road and track cars. The gear knob is pretty much next to the steering wheel.

I've been badgering Nick at PMS for ages on these, have put my name down on the group-buy but will order one by myself if there isn't enough interest.

I've just spoken to Nick at PMS, they need card details from 10 of us before sending any kits out at the group-buy price, therefore if for example it takes 2 weeks to get the 10th none would be sent out until then. If like me you are impatient then may be its just worth paying the full price. I will wait until Monday and if PMS haven't got 10 card details I'll pay full price.
