Or poxy engine in this case I can't tell the cause but its either the head gasket or a valve has snapped but either way the car wont run - had to get it towed to a garage last night. Anyway how much does it usually cos to fix a head gasket failure. If it comes to getting a new engine put in instead e.g 1.4 rt or and 1.8 rsi engine, how much does it usually cost to transplant and will I need the wiring loom from the other car??

Head gastet £20 or so then labour say 6 hours depending what price your garage charge then new cambelt (you should change it).

A trasnplant well idealy you want a whole doner car its a fair bit of work DIY is the only reason you'd ever do it otherwsie get a second hand engine like your and stick that in.
