Popping from exhaust..

earlier my 172 popped when accelerating hard in 1st gear. didnt do it in any other gear... any ideas what t his might be?

more than likely your engine mounts... unlikely to be the exhaust popping on acceleration.

The O/S engine mount will need adjusting.

thanks. sounds likely actually cus the garage adjusted the engine mounts last week to solve a rattling noise i was getting from what sounded like my front wheel.

Mine does it on over run, especially when it is cold. Mines not standard though. Philmots tried charging me for his hearing aid prescription.

on over run they can pop... on acceleration they dont lol.

Mine never popped on the overrun when I had the decat.

tuned engine and unslienced mid-section probably helps a little
