Powdercoating is, in my oppinion, the better option. It's more durable and always seems to be a much deeper colour.

pretty much more expensive and seems to be better than powder coating .
I was wondering the same thing a couple of weeks ago, went to the people that do the job (powder coating + spraying) and this is what they told me.

Same here. CAS coatings I guess?
I paid £1.50/inch as I had lacquer so £96.00 all in. If i'm honest, there are very minute hair line cracks in the lacquer but they have been on for 18 months with no chips and look fantastic when clean.

I would say powder coating is the way to go.
But then again if 20 pounds per wheel is only powder coating them without thorough cleaning them / Sanding ...the new layer will come off soon. As with painting / spraying it all depends on the quality of the base-material. (Clean and smooth)
I worked at an elevator company and all materials that were made custom color were powder coated. The base color was powder coated as well.
The finish is more durable and better hit resistant.
The look can be just as good as painted / sprayed.
Still coating the wheel should be with
- sanding (machinal with glasspearls or something)
- thorough cleaning

paint can chip soooo easy, ever tried to remove powder coat off a wheel? well liquid nitrous struggled hard!!!!
£20 a corner is a good price, there isnt as much over head on powder coating as spraying as far as im aware and that would be the costing difference,!

powder coat the whole wheel mate, they strip them to bare metal powder coat them and then bake them. tis a top job

1 pound per inch, so a 16inch wheel is 16 quid. its a bargain, if you want a fancy colour its 1.50 per inch, but black silver and white is 1 per inch

Probably, and I dont think they do them in the same day. The Wheel Specialist in leeds discount CS members, code is "cliosportyorks" same day service, discount is 25% plus free tyre strip, refit & balancing.
It's not £20 a wheel, but you get what you pay for.
£20 each does sound cheep but at that price you can have them done every year.
paint has so meny things that can go rong with time powercoting is better because less things effect it (you cannot question the Tappits fact machine)
Other than hitting something with them theres not mutch that can go rong with podercoating. we even use it under the bay because heat does not realy effect it ether.

Do CAS do all the cleaning and blasting, and are they able to repair minor kerbing, as well as doing the powder coating?
