Power cap

Got my new Ixos 850 Power cap today, how do i wire it up? currently i have the +12v and earth going directly to my amp, do i take them to the cap and then a +12v and earth to my amp from the cap?

Thanks

Take the +12v off your amp and connect it to the power cap, now run another power lead from the power cap back to your amp. [ this is so the +12v goes through the cap first ]. Now run an earth lead from the cap to a good earth. Last thing is to run a lead from the remote terminal on your amp to the remote terminal on the cap. Job done.

Are caps any good?

I got a 12" 600w Eclipse sub and a 2x340w Pro-Plus amp, thinking of a cap but I dont know any one with any experience with them?

Does it just ensure that you keep a steady flow of power to the sub when the bass drops?

What sort of cap would be good with that combo ?

Yes its the ony way of ensuring the amp gets a steady voltage, it trickle charges all the time and gives the amp the power when it needs make sure you get a decent one though! Ixos ones are very good indeed the 750 and 850 are the ones to go for imho!
