Power, Ground Wire - Thickness? 4awg?

I have a FLI 12" twin active - 800W RMS, 2000 Max. I bought a 4awg kit last year and that worked fine. Now the earth is too short in my new car and my RCA's were knackered, so I bought a new 4awg kit of ebay.

The new wires are smaller compared to my old ones, will it still be okay to use this new, thinner? wire as a ground, with the thicker power cable?

Alternatively, could I chop some of the old thick power cable off and use it as a ground?

is the copper that same diameter ? as it should be being both 4 awg kits

the ground cable should be the same size as the power cable
