Power steerin on a Williams III

Hi Im new to the forum and would like some help with the above.

Power steering was makin a clickin noise in the morning which turns to a squeal given 5 mins and then remains for the rest of the day.

The car is a 95 Williams III with 59k.

Ive got the new pump and have stripped out the nearside head-light and alternator and all the retaining bolts, but still cant get the pump out.

So... have a I got to remove the inlet manifold as well, and is there anything esle I should be aware of while doing this? Local Renault stealer wanted £350 for the job, kinda know why now, but it all good experience.

Dont suppose anyones got a how2 on this.

All help greatly appreciated.

the pwer steering pump is a b**ch of a job to do.
have you tried bleeding the system manually (to do this you park on grass & turn the wheels lock to lock to get rid of the air)
it is common for a 16v &
williams to make the noise on full lock.

if yours is doing it with out being on full lock, i have no idea (sorry)

You dont need to remove the inlet manifold but you need to remove supporting bracket and the piece of metal that bolts onto so you can slide the pump out. also will need to remove pulley on the front of the pump as there is 3 bolts behind it (maybe 4 cant remember) then slide it out

Thanks for the help still a little confused, madman1981 do you mean remove the large frot supporting bracket, which seems to be attached to half the engine, awkward is not the word.
