Power steering noise 16v

On a cold start put my 16v on full lock and a loud knocking can be heard i presume must be the power steering pump, along with a screeching as if something is catching the aux belt. But once the car is warm, the problem disappears. Any ideas anyone?

Change the PAS fluid. PAS racks on Valvers aren't that good.

Is the screeching not the valve releasing the pressure whilst on full lock? Anywho, it could also be the steering rack and not the PS pump causing the noise.
