106 GTI
Decided id start a progress thread instead of cluttering CS with multiple threads, also easier if anyone wants to check my progress.
Heres the car when I first picked it up, Had both cup packs and only 30k on it.
From day 1 I didnt want the car to stay standard so a 3/4 plate from fancyplates was ordered, also some silvervisions as I hate the eggs.
A month later I received my miltek and decat
This was booked in at prospeed to be fitted and the centre silencer removed.
Some weight had to be shed so the parcel shelf, rear bench, inner boot plastic, under bonnet sound deadening and engine cover had to go
Fancied going a bit wild so out came the mercedes telecom green
I then decided to do a cut down version of the standard tow-eye
Had a bit of pipe left over in work so decided to make a strut brace on the cheap
The splitter had seen better days so I opted for the whaledick megan one.
I was then able to source a second hand set of GAZ coilovers, which I picked up and fitted the same day. These pics was then taken a few days later
It then went to birchdown for a cambelt, aux belt and match inlets to be fitted ( courtesy of codgey )
Also the pfte gaskets accompanied the inlets
I then got bored of the green badges and sold them on to davesport172
In place went some amphasite ones.
Also bought a spare set of bullets and painted them like this
I quite like the cheeky stickers and after attending the pistonheads show I went for this
My AST topmounts arrived so I fitted these only to find they need machining to fit my 57mm I.D GAZ springs
Soon to go on order is some shorter falkner springs for the front.
The fogs were then ditched... ( to be continued )
Another cheap mod thanks to the forum was the carbon bonnet from Josie172cup
Here you can see another cheeky sticker which is a bit of fun between a few friends
I am now in the middle of relocating the battery ready for a cup racer style induction setup, a cold air feed will be run from the fog.
I managed to nab a bargain GRP box off ebay to put the battery in
The acoustic valve has also been removed
This is the 0 awg for the battery relocation
Heres some seats I picked up yesterday from ebay which have some omp 4 point harnesses also
Now on the big save to get some rails for the seats and the resistors.
I need to double check the measurements on my arb to make sure my powerflex ones are the right size.
Also fitted an alpine x001 courtesy of mt audio on here, will get pics of that again though
2 new toyos also sat in the living room ready to be fitted on the front
Once the induction setup is done I will use my rstuner to remap it
