Pre order yours.....

  Ultra 197 ex 172 Cup
i don't think their will be much of a shortage of these, its not christmas, and they are too pricy for young kids, so parents won't buy.

  Octy VRS
I'll wait thanks, at least a few months for any problems to surface and the price to drop a bit. And for GTA4!

  Citroen DS3 DSport
im hoping they are popular ive got four guranteed for delivery

Not as popular as the Wii. Argos are still able to take pre-orders after an antire day of trading, the Wii sold out within minutes.

I've placed my pre-order at a local Virgin Megastore today, 7th on the list. £50 deposit and no forced bundle.

  Merc Coupe V6 AMG

Pre order is a waste of time you should be able to get one anyway,

The PS3 is flopping in america and japan at the moment stores have laods of stock on shelves that they cant shift.

in the states the 20gb ps3 is selling for less second hand than a 360

Be interesting to see how they push the PS3, at that price it's just not going to sell to the target market, and Sony really cannot afford another flop/loss making exercise in it's gaming division - they lost circa £2 billion in 2006 in their games division alone.

With PS3 being the flagship for Blu-Ray too, if it doesn't sell then the films aren't gonna shift on BR, the film studio's will move over to HD-DVD and Sony will meet a timely demise...I hope.

After the stunt they pulled on Lik-Sang, I hope the company contracts some sort of AID's tbh.

  Citroen DS3 DSport
I'm sure I'll enjoy other games on it too and I'm looking forward to trying out the BR dvd's.

  Leon Cupra R 225
Price way too high, Im still on old skool Xbox so just going to be getting a 360 soon enough and get Halo 3 to please me for a bit. I'll wait nearer end of year for a PS3

hehehehe, well is MGM want to bring about that Total-HD format, by glueing a HD-DVD disc back to back with a Blue-Ray disc, then why not i guess :)

  SLK 350
No, actually it isn't. It's a completely different format and standard. Their only common element is that they are both optical storage media.

so your saying its not digital or versatile or a disk then ??

Perhaps read my post. BR/HD-DVD/DVD, like CD's are optical storage media, does that mean they're all the same? No, because they all conform to different standards, and are as such different products,.

Using your rationale a CD would also be a DVD given, it's a disc, it's digital and it's versatile (data/music/svcd).

Sorry champ.

so why is HD-DVD still called HD-DVD then if its different also?

DVD stands for digital versatile disc so yes, a cd will also count.

And its BD not BR for Blu-ray, stands for (B)lu-ray (D)isc

We are all just being picky now they are all compact discs.

Try playing a HD-DVD in a DVD player, let me know how you get on dave.

I'm not splitting hairs over this, my closing point remains that they are completely different formats, using different technology/wave-lengths/laser colours/codecs/drm etc etc.

The common thread is, they're stored on optical discs.

Now lets go back to talking about the PS3 flopping...

lol, i have no need to try one in anything other than my hd-dvd player, looks like a dvd to me, infact, whenever lovefilm send me my films i have to double check what format they have sent me, SD or HD as the discs are exactly the same.

codecs are same btw, both can use VC-1 for example, they just seem to both use different ones at the moment but both tend to use one of two.
