Price for a good 182?

I'm looking at exporting a 182 to Korea to exploit the quiet mountain roads (with hairpins). How much should I expect to pay for a 182 that has had everything done? Since it's leaving the country parts will be harder to acquire hence I want one that should be maintenance free (except tyres, brakes etc) for 1/2 years.

Just for perspective this is my commute.

Could be an option if I can find a decent one. Cup with A/C could be nice.

Wouldnt let mine go for a penny less than £4500.

Its a very well looked after example, its never been used as a track car. Its been a daily normal use car with excellent service history.

We all know you can pick a 182 up for 2.5ish but lets fce it, it will of been passed theough a number of owners who have most probably thrashed it. Like mentioned, mine was bought in 2008 when they were close to they were still expensive to buy, i worked my arse off to be able to afford the car, the insurance and the maintanance costs involved.

My mate has just got a 182 for £1800. So they can be bought cheap, but for reason.

I paid £4800 for mine nearly 2 years ago (37k, FSH). Thought it was over priced, but compared to my mates, it was a steal at £4800.

^^Yep but he wil have to spend at least £1500 on top to make it a good example!

You paid about right imo for yours.
:)

OP this is what i think the going rates are.

£1.5> £2k for a shed of a 182 which needs a lot of work

£2k> £2.5k for a good one

£2.5k> £3k for a very good one

£3k > £3.4k For an excellent one

£3.4k > upwards for a stunning example

Yep i'm ready for the " i got a stunning example for £2k" i'm still yet to see one.:rasp:

You're right Martin. Yet you do see good cars underpriced and some dogs that are up for £4k.

If you know what you're looking for then there are bargains to be had.

Plus if you actively WANT a Titanium then you are in a great position. Always loads about in that colour and always cheaper than everything else.

Sadly, I have a real hankering for a perfect 182 in RB or possibly Inferno so I'll no doubt be paying over the odds.

Mine cost me £1,850 in 2011 and it's an absolute minter compared to one I paid £6,500 for a few years previous... yes it had slightly over 100k miles but had a couple of years left on the belts and the biggest fix so far has cost me £15 to sort out.

The deals are there if you look around :)

I think to save money on duty and to make sure it's done properly I'll be looking for a cheap example with service history which requires work. The most important bits are suspension, belts and brakes. Is there anything I'm missing for a reliable 1*2?

Picked my RB up for £2.2k and it needs a lot of work but then then I'd rarther than than pay £3k+ for one and end up with a nail that someone lied about all the faults.

As long as there done by a Renault specialist I wouldn't worry too much.

Dan@519 and Fred@BTM off here seem to be the favorites on the forum.

i dont know much about cars and value but i paid £2700 for mine in august 2012

74k seven service stamps one that said belts have been done and with what work was carried out also it is a fullfat 2005 model in the lovely inferno colour

bad points its got apex springs and tinted windows but in time it will be back to standard

when buying make sure you see proof like receipt or something to prove belts got done

like me i had my car booked in to get them done again because i had no proof but put my money i was going to use on a brand new house so im saving my pennies again

I got a leggy but mint (best condition paint i've seen for a 9 year old car) arctic for £1200. Needed belts doing but even at £1700 it was a bloody bargain. Its possible, you have to be prepared to wait though.
