Probably dumb question re: swapping phones

If I'm swapping my sim card to a new phone by a different manufacturer (would be going from Motorola crap to Samsung) will my numbers and text messages (and photos?) be lost/screwed?

Don't want to lose them but I'd imagine that different Operating Systems use different coding, therefore they won't be compatible... :S

you can bluetooth them over phone to phone

If your numbers and texts are on the sim, then they'll be on the sim when it's in the new phone. If not, and you can't just copy them to the sim in the existing phone, then as said bluetooth them other.
