Problems with key/key fob;

Problems with key/key fob; Intermittent fault
Sometimes engine turns over but cuts out after a few seconds of turning ignition. Or immobileser light flashes after turning ignition. Does anyone know what problem this is and how to sort it out?
I have a clio 1.4 +16v dynamique on a 51 plate.

if the imobiliser light doens't go off the isue is with the imobiliser so you ned to check to see if your other key suffers the problem most likly though the picup ring is the problem round the ignition barrel its cheap enough to chnage.

Try turning the key all the way round in the ignition the one before you turn the car over then press the key fob button twice and then take the key out, see if that works

Take the key apart, CAREFULLY don't loose the chip, and clean it with electrical contact cleaner.

aye dust gets trapped in the fob and looses electrical contact
