Poorboys EX-P Sealant
Poorboys QD High Gloss Quick Detailer

In my basket at i4Deatiling I have :

Meguiars Shampoo Plus 3.78L
i4D Uber Premium drying towel
Meguiars Super Degreaser 3.78L
i4D tyre gloss
Valet Pro Bilberry wheel cleaner

And advice or comments on the stuff i've ordered / looking to order.

Im looking for comments from people who have used the products and know of superior products please.

Thanks

Pretty good list I'd say, hard to pick fault really.

What you gotta remember is detailing products are so subjective, someone could come along and prefer something else to each item on that list.

So far i've ordered :

Poorboys Wheel Sealant excellent stuff
Poorboys White Diamond Show Glaze nay bad
Poorboys EX-P Sealant prefer CG Blitz for ease of use
Poorboys QD High Gloss Quick Detailer not bad, but at the rate I go through QD I buy mass amounts of Megs No16 Last Touch

In my basket at i4Deatiling I have :

Meguiars Shampoo Plus 3.78L prefer Gold Class Shampoo
i4D Uber PLush Premium drying towel SUPERB TOWEL
Meguiars Super Degreaser 3.78L prefer APC
i4D tyre gloss prefer Megs Endurance/Blackfire
Valet Pro Bilberry wheel cleaner great, but once used, you should protect wheels by polishing, then sealing, then warm soapy water will be enough to remove grime tbh

Pretty much agree with what forearms said :)

Especially the towel and last touch stuff...The towel is awesome IMO

So would you recommend i drop the bilberry? As the wheels will be polished and sealed before going on the car.

I looked at Meguiars last touch but i'd already bought the poorboys stuff (Arrived today infact)

Meguiars Shampoo Plus 3.78L prefer Gold Class Shampoo

Is this avaliable in bulk? I was looking for something a bit friendly on the pocket, but still from a good manufacturer, with a good reputation.

A bit more advice and i'd say we're even after the MP Protein thread ;)

lol

Haha, good man, liking the banter :)

Bilberry is over kill in my eyes, as good as it is. Shampoo and warm water + mitt is all I use. If it start to build up grime wise, cut it back with SRP and EGP/Poorboys wheel seal again.

PB is perfectly good, in fact might be better, but like you last touch is bulk and I drink the stuff ;)

Gold Class isnt available in bulk any more AFAIK, so in that case, go with the plus stuff, perfectly good stuff :)

Poorboys QD High Gloss Quick Detailer - I'd of said Last Touch too...but too late now

Meguiars Shampoo Plus 3.78L - Duragloss #902
i4D Uber Premium drying towel - Not used but heard good things, personally I use CG Miracle Dryer
Meguiars Super Degreaser 3.78L - Meg's APC or Daisy, at a push AG Engine and Machine Cleaner
i4D tyre gloss - Blackfire
I've got Bilberry and unsealed wheels, because they all need a refirb. Only tested it on one the other day and TBH I can't say that I noticed any difference between that any any other wheel cleaner I've used in the past. But that said do drive quite hard and plan to do a bit of track so I'm sure it will get used then.

Sy I forgot to order some APC in my last batch of products. Think a trip to Tescos is in order this weekend ;)

lol oddly me too. I've not actually tried Daisy yet but so many people are banging on about it I figure I'll give it a try seeing as I'm out of Meg's APC...87p is a lot of money to waste I know, but that's just how I roll.

That's going to be epic. I was planning to do a full detail on mine again this weekend before FCS and top up with wax through the week but the weather is now looking crap and I've been pulled into work on Sunday afternoon, so I'll just have to hope for some decent weather in the week to at least get some wax layers down.

I'm going to give spit shine waxing a go too, see if it actually does give better results or not. Suppose I should really get a DA too soon PMSL.

Poorboys Wheel Sealant
Poorboys White Diamond Show Glaze
Poorboys EX-P Sealant
Poorboys QD High Gloss Quick Detailer

In my basket at i4Deatiling I have :

Meguiars Shampoo Plus 3.78L OR Duragloss #902
i4D Uber Premium drying towel
Meguiars Super Degreaser 3.78L *** OR Meguiars APC
i4D tyre gloss - Can't find the other stuff on i4D

*** I thought Megs APC was more for interior cleaning....Or would this be better as i can use it for door shuts etc and seats carpets roof lining??

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

I've dropped the Bilberry out of the list now. I don't think i'll be able to order and recieve this in time for friday now though :(

www.poorboys-shop.co.uk

It forwards you to ultimate finish.

Prices not too bad i guess.

But the delivery speed is second to none. Don't think i have recieved anything quite so fast from an internet company in a long time!

They do alot more than Poorboys, including DodoJuice. Megs and a few others!

I saw the stuff on CYC but they didn't have some of the stuff in stock so i got it all from UF to get the free postage.

Probably didn't work out too much more expensive.

Maybe next time if they're all in stock i'll give CYC a try!

JD : So should i go with the APC and drop the Bilberry??

Can i use the APC on the doorshuts aswell as seats and carpets and so on...?

  Bumder With A Buffer
cleanyourcar do the poorboys stuff, and we get discount aswell.

Should get it from them :)

Dont do discount at CYC..its been replaced with points system that you can use? I.e spend £30 get £3 in your bonus kitty thing.

OK thanks mate.

Will be placing that order very soon.

Whats the general lead time on an order? If i place it tomorrow (sunday) would it generally be received by say wednesday/thursday??

Just used the PB Wheel Sealant.

Must say it's very nice/easy to use. Alot softer than i thought and went on easily. Buffed off even easier.

Given the wheels a coat of AG SRP and 2 coats of PB WS so far :D

  421 Cammed 172
Has done indeed. :D

Do you think a coat of AG EGP would be a bit overkill??

They're freshly powdercoated so don't want the brake dust getting at them for a good while!

  421 Cammed 172
I'll just leave it PB WS then.

Cheers lads :D

Its quite satisfying this cleaning and polishing lark really! I was just lookin at the wheels thinkin 'they look bloody gorgeous' lol

Some good products there...one thing though: whatever youll get you will think theres better out there and thus the vicious cycle that is detailing begins!

  421 Cammed 172
Ive used EGP in the past and the thing that got me was the amount of time you had to leave it on.

Ive tried PB EX-P Sealant and it gives the same (if not better) results, but without having to leave it on for such a long time!

I've just gotta decide which big bottle of shampoo to get once my little bottle of simoniz has finished!

EGP is alright that's about as good a review of it that I can give. It's horrid to remove, doesn't give any good gloss to the paint and isn't durable.

EX-P is a much, much better product. Or CG Blitz, from what JD and Ali have said, but I've not used it.

Duragloss #902 (or #901 if just want to try it first).

WHAT! EGP is really good from what I've read. I use it, but I cant compare it to anything else as that's all I've used :(
See above. ;)
