Programmes to run "CD-less" games?

Not sure if this is OK to post up/ask, but I have a CD-less game (Total Annihilation) that I fancy playing again at some point on the laptop. I used Alcohol 120% back in the day, but don't particularly want to pay $40 to download it again.

Are there any free CD image drive programmes that people can suggest to download??

Legality is dependant on you owning the game. If you downloaded the game genuinely then you should just be able to install it. Places like Gamefly sell games for pretty much full whack that are just downloaded and run without the CD. I have an Alienware "notebook" which doesn't have a drive so I used steam and gamefly to buy games.

If you own the CD for the game you can aquire "No CD files" which mean you don't need the CD to run the game but legally this is the same as the "You can play GameBoy Emulators on your PC if you own the Gameboy and the game in question".

It's a virtual drive you're after if you're talking about A120 but because you own the game legally then you shouldn't need it.....

You want something to mount the ISO, right?

So, type in free ISO or something similar. I have a version of an ISO thing you can have when I come over for a pint?

Daemon tools to mount an ISO cd image?

Crack fix?

Both are not illegal, but sharing games on a single license is. ##But does anyone really give a f**k.

I didn't think Total Annihilation needed a disk to run, I have it on my computer and didn't do any cracks but it still runs without the disk.

Slysoft Virtual Clonedrive seems to do a good enough job for mounting ISOs and it's free. http://www.slysoft.com/en/virtual-clonedrive.html

I don't think that it will work for most games though, as their protection doesn't allow it.

I use no cd cracks for most of my games (all fully bought and paid for) as it saves having to dig the DVD out each time.

A google should take you to the sites for it. I don't know whether it falls outside of acceptable behaviour on here...

I use power ISO does the job.

You get a free trial iirc but it didn't take a lot of effort looking online to get the full version

Daemon tools is the best virtual drive to use. You won't need a crack for TA, it's ancient and won't have any DRM.

Don't give the man a hard time about trying to play a knockoff copy of TA, it's about 15 years old ffs. You wouldn't be able to buy it if you tried.

5 mins of searching on google will find you a patch for this exact game to play with no cd and other mods to improve game play
