progress is slow at the moment due to paying for my holiday, the dci needing a clutch and cambelt and generally working flat out having no time for the car! done a few wee bits tho...

engine cover finished...

got an RS Tuner and put the 98 ron map on it with raised limiter, then went in search of that limiter in 5th gear, i knew ph1's had a longer 5th gear didnt think it was that much longer, topped out 1,000rpm from the limiter lol...

rear reg plate light was faded and looking past it, replaced that along with new fresh, clean reg plates

front plate...

shiney engine cover bolts...

6000k HID's went on (cheers http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/)

Worth getting an RS tuner then? Does it really give a bit more power lower down the revs?

i didnt notice a massive gain however ph1's have a much better mid range than ph2 cars anyway so id imagine on a ph2 it would make a decent difference.

the raised limiter makes it worth while for me, and once the pops, bangs and flames map is released it will be awesome!

i just gave it a rub down to remove all the roughness then gave it a good clean with AG engine and machine cleaner then a few coats of the paint over that and it seems fine!

few updates nothing special, gave it a wash, changed the sparkplugs, going to do oil and filter on it this week at some point and got Bilstein B14 coilovers lined up for it...

they are getting done next month due to having to weld a blob of weld to the locking nuts and hammer a socket over the blob to remove lol some burn marks on the wheels (was planning on doing them anyway!)

on the look out for a 2nd set i may do black though!

this has been quiet for the last few months just been collecting parts.
stripped the inlet manifold off it, re painted it silver along with the fuel rail guaurd and the arm on top of the throttle body, ordered and fitted a brand new ph1 172 Airbox as i had lost the clips for mine and you cant get them sepporate!
waiting on a new battery and new 90 degree inlet hose and its ready to get fired up!
also had to change the alternator for a brend new genuine renault one and a genuine renault AUX belt kit, that was fun... NOT!!!

all the black metal bits around the battery tray are off and rubbed down ready to get re painted, got Renault Type D coolant for it, want to order a new coolant resovoir tank for it to tidy that up a bit, wont stop untill its 100% mint as it left the factory, this could get expensive!

The ph1 in black is smart. Infact, i now prefer to see the ph1 to the ph2!!!
