I've been focusing my efforts on getting the engine bay ready for this weekend, which is when the M20 will hopefully find its new home.

I wanted a fresh OEM sound deadening section, but BMW don't supply them anymore and nobody in the UK was holding any stock, so I resorted to buying some engine bay specific material and making my own.

Spent a while templating it up and cutting it out then covering it with a water resistant fleece.

Then got it fitted with velcro, so I can remove it in the future, should I need to.

Nice delivery of parts and tools arrived too:

Few more bits and pieces to be doing over this week, then ready for dropping the engine in on Saturday.

Bloody good work again Eddie.

I bet you've learnt a s**tload since taking this on eh?

Yeah, even just little jobs like making brake pipes is a new thing I've learnt for example.

There's plenty I still know nothing/very little about, mainly with regards to the engine, but I certainly know my way around an E21 though!

So, over the weekend much was done.

I got the servos painted up:

Then it was time to get the M20 in.

Clutch on:

Gearbox fitted and the engine going in:

After not long at all, it was in:

Now need to plumb it in, and wire it up and it'll be ready for its first start :)

Good work! Love all the progress pics.

Can't remember is this now going to be manual or still auto?

Pretty much whatever he asks for it in reason, some people wouldn't want to pay a lot for it but then others would pay a hell of a lot of imagine!
