Project: engine swap - help

Hello,
First, my name is Radu and I am from Romania, so sorry for my basic english:smiley:.

I own a 2door Phase 2 Clio, 1.2 75hp and want to swap the entire engine together with suspension, brakes and others from the 182 version.
In Romania is left hand drive and the donation engine car is (will be) a right hand drive. I read some threads here about this, but did not find what steering I need for using left hand drive. I saw somewhere that a stock 1.2 will be fine, but the rods a little different? Did not know exactly.
Other parts I think can be used from my 1.2 car. I want to swap almost everything on mechanical and even on electrical, like adding electric mirrors and claster computer (i dod not know the exact term:">)
I want at the end of this year to have the clio sport rhd and some other parts that I need.
Also all parts will be sanded and repainted, or even blasted with fine glass particles. All bushes will be made by a friend that build bushes for off road vehicles.

Thanks a lot and hope I post in the right place.
Have a great day!
Radu

LE i forgot to mention that my Clio has under 20k miles, this is the reason I want to make a project like this and also for my personal satisfaction.

I managed to find the electric cables for lhd. Can anyone help me with a steering rack code or a compatibilily from renault? I saw that there are some hidraulics for 1.5dci for example. I will also have the rhd steering rack if the rods are interchangeable. Thank you a lot!

What I want, is to get a Clio 182 at the end of this year. Maybe a fullfat one that have also the cup suspension and cup spoiler. And also I will paint the car in racing blue.

In around 2-3 weeks I will get a 182. Because I need to convert my standard clio into a 182, I would like to rebuild everything from bottom, starts with the engine.
The first thing is to add some more BHP, what is the best way? I read about cams with some other mods and also something for turbo conversion. All the work will be done by me in my workshop.
Does, for example, 438 cams together with intake, exhaust and ecu add noticeable difference?
Please help me with your mods and results,
Thanks

Keep the little clio as is then sell and buy a 182 as for the cams 438 are OK I had them on my old ph1 ported inlets and other mods and made 192bhp but if you want to go big like turbo then it's big money

I did not find any Left hand drive 182, so a RHD was bought and soon will be converted.
To be honest, around 195bhp will be perfect for me. The only reason I would like to make from start those mods, is because I did not like to dissasemble the car on each mod.
Thanks!

  Hi comp phase 1
Surely it would be easier to convert the RHD 182 to LHD, then just sell the 1.2 as standard?
I'm sure exhaust, head porting and cams would be breaking into 190's bhp

Well, I need to dissasemble everything to change de steering rack, so almost everything I need to change, including the wires under the dash:( it would not be so easy. The 1.2 has only 20k miles, so it is for ruse rust free.
Thanks!

Sorry for later post.
I want to make the conversion on the 1.2, because of the engine panel, the one from engine compartment to interior, I did not know the term in English, because it needs no additional cuts for putting the steering rack on the left side and also because all the interior plastics, like dashboard, door handle with two window switches on left side and one on right side etc.
The only thing I would like to make is flat boot floor like the 182 to fit the exhaust. Probably I will cut from the 182 and solder it on my Clio.
Thanks and sorry for this later post.

Can someone make some measures on the adapters for Clio 3 calipers? I will try to make my own mounts on my own CNC. Thanks

Since I want to build a sleeper Clio, a basic bicorp with a 182 engine and some little engine mods, I bought my wheels for the project.
Next month I will go to UK and buy a FF 182 clio and start the conversion.
