Mine has been very reliable. Only ever broke down once and that was a flat battery (it was old and not exactly the cars fault) . Just got to watch for rot on the boot floor, and inner arches but any mk2 will be fine due to a full galvinsed chassis (mk1's were galvinised too but are getting on now). Handling is fantastic out the packet, tail happy when you want it :)

Mk2's aren't all that great dude... They're easy starting to rot now! Still, yours is coming along nice! Going to be seriously fun when finished!

Like the battery relocation, can you link me upto the kit you used? Also which battery you went for, is it a type R one?

Lovely mk1.

Just had a read through the thread and really like what you have done so far! Engine will be awesome when it's in too!

Still miss my saxo's.. There is something about them even now.

Yeah seeing alot of rotten ones now. My boot has had a fair amount of welding over the years and other places but i think most of it is fine, Atspeed are doing the inner arches too so saves me a job. Fun will be the main factor for the car now. Wont be the most powerfull but if i was after power id of turbo'd a 16v lump. Want some fun.

Thanks mate, Its an Odyssey 25 Drycell battery, not from another car. Its non spill able hence not having to have it in a box. I got everything except the batter and cage from http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.eu

Yes mate.

I'll pop over again when I get a chance Sam :)

No worries mate, you know where i am

Everything you do always looks really good and never half assed.

I really like that.

Thanks for that. Everything i've done to the saxo has been done before so apart from the colour my attention to detail is what i hope sets me apart from the rest. Things like changing all the interior bolts for pro-bolt items. I like doing things properly, take the time to do things right.

Forgot i had a thread here....... so Yep its still alive, now has a polycarb window. Here's a pointless picture as it looks the same as it did before (the black border looks better than before)

Bought a second hand Mocal catch tank from Spoox a few weeks back, Was a bit beaten up but i have spent some time, paint and pimp fitting on it and this is the result:

Wrinkle paint to match the rocker cover, looks alot better than the pic shows. Fittings are 1/4 BSP - -AN8 - -AN10.

Thats all for now, picking a gearbox up on sunday too.

Thanks mate, wanted it to look as oem as possible. Had to run a bead of sealant around it to keep it water tight but uses original fixing points. A friend at work reminded me today that i need to update this thread anyway.

Thanks guys. Paul i have emptied my inbox now btw as it said you tried to send me a pm.
Picking up a s2 peugeot 106 rallye gearbox tomorrow so one step closer to the engine being in. Its been a long wait (would have had the engine a year on the first of april), but its been worth it just go get everything in, in one go.

Little more progress....

Picked a s2 Rallye box up from Alex a few weekends back. Great evening out with 4 of us demolishing a Frankie and Benny's. Thanks to Lea for driving his new 200 down to meet us.

Made a little catch tank bracket up, used rivnuts all over it for a better finish, and a space on the back to hold the battery wire junction box, got to put edging on the outside but you get the point;

And for those of you that have me on Facebook you will of noted that i got wallet raped a few day ago after some retail therapy at Atspeed's online shop. More on that in a day or two.

Been out in the cold for an hour today doing a spot of wiring.

I never was 100% happy with how I wired the battery in the boot. Also had a problem, as the car is sat for long periods of time, the battery is disconnected to save it draining away. But to get to the battery and re-connect it, i had to climb over the buckets into the back as i have no way of opening the boot form the outside. (smoothed lock etc)

So i wired in a little kill switch in a discreet place behind the passenger seat, now i can leave the battery connected and only have to reach to the rear quarter to connect / disconnect the power.
Tidied up the wires a bit too.
