Prolines fitted.

Fitted my Prolines yesterday.

I'm glad I couldn't go for sportlines, as I wouldn't want the car any lower. It looks just right now. I'd say it's only slightly lower, but has a nicer stance.

Handling is an immense improvement over stock though. Much less roll through the corners, and the car stays flat when flooring it, opposed to the rear sinking like it used to. I haven't pushed it hard yet, as I want to get used to the handling charachteristics slowly, but well worth the £150. Normal driving, you can't tell I have uprated springs, as they're still soft, but when they get closer to the end of travel, they firm up.

How it should have been from stock.

can you get differing height drops for these springs? I want a drop that's more noticeable than 15mm and equal all round

come in pro's or sport's pro's dont really lower, although they have a bit;) and the sports lower a bit more say up to 40mm but its more like 20-30 well thats what i got:D

but like has been said they really make such a difrance:approve:

I really want it to look equal all round though.

The sports i've looked at lower more on the front than the back.

The pros i've seen lower equally but not as much as the sports!

Mine is now equal all round, which I like. I don't like the look of slammed or low cars though, as it just screams boy racer to me (just my opinion I don't want to shouted at lol), so I just wanted better handling. The fact the springs levelled the car out was a bonus.

I like it equal too but I want a visually lower looking car, I hate the bus look. Just as long as I can't get a small colony under the arches i'll be happy!

Crap pics but shows how prolines sit.

Looking good. Where did you get them from? I'm looking to get some soon and the cheapest i've found was k-tec so far.

Yeah got them from Ktec, were about £145 I think. I spent £20 on four new bolts for the bottom of the shocks too, as mine were badly corroded, and the thread stripped as I undid one of them. Whole job took me about an hour and a half I think.

I had to laugh, quickly read over fubar's guide when trying to find out what size sockets I needed, and it mentions just pulling the existing rear springs out. Mine didn't want to pop out, it took a little persuasion.

So when you stripped the bolots where did you get the new ones from and did you use someone elses car to pick them up?

None of the ones i've done will let the rear springs drop out without unbolting the shocks from the axle and dropping it on the jack.

I took the bolt out on the bottom of the rear shock, and let it right down, and it was still a little tight. The prolines are slightly compressed when when the bolt is back in, as they aren't much shorter than the oe coils, opposed to putting 35mm apex springs on my g/f's 1.2, and I reckon I could pull them out at full travel of the shock lol.
