Prospeed story and sports cat request for 2004 DCi ???

I recently made a visit to Prospeed, with the intention of buying a full system including a sports cat.

Problems first started appearing on the journey there, being diverted back over the Severn bridge to find £4.90 in change...

100 miles later and we arrived at the 2nd bridge with some frowning faces and a £50 pound note.

A robbery later and we were on our way, dropping back onto the M4 at 100mph, eating miles away, take the exit marked by my Autoroute map. Continue down the road looking for a roundabout (miss it and continue into the city centre for a few more miles). Call Charlie and ask for help, whilst going round and round the roundabout we were meant to be on.

He gave us a signpost to follow, but we couldn't see it, so he said he'd come out and meet us, turns out the sign post had gone:clown:

Anyway, 2 hours late and the car is on the ramp. We set off into Cardiff city centre, 2 hours later and we get a call. Prospeed cannot fit the sports cat, on account that it's too difficult to access.

We head back and he helps us do a temporary mount for the laser jammer. Away back on the road and the exhaust is giving a lovely note.

However, back at home, and I'm longing for more, so this goes to all of the traders on here.

Can anyone fit a sports cat (200cpsi) to a 2004 DCi, in which the cat is between the manifold and exhaust pipe (must be almost vertical as I cannot see it from below).

If so, where and how much for the item and fitting.

Why would you want a sports cat or any exhaust chnages at all won't give any more hp diesels arn't like petrols they need fuel to make power.

Best get a second exhaust soot collect(since its not a cat on the dci its a soot collector) and smash the internals out of it. then take it out and swop it.

Lol ok. Well I must say edde, that the exhaust has improved the midrange torque available, this was found on the motorways back home, unless the noise distracted me lol.

Either way, thanks for clearing up the whole cat thing, I guess that's why I couldn't see it, I'll let the "soot collect" be and focus on the intake before I goto superchips next month.

Any recommendations ?? I have been speaking to a rep at Pipercross about fitting a viper to my car.

A diesel is cunlike a petrol in that you can run 1000000 bar boost and you'll get no more power unless you give it more fule the only time you need more air is if you are getting a dirty exhaust or EGT temps are massive and stock mapping just doesn't do that. The only gains you'll be getting is that the turbo will spool up a slight bit quicker since resistance is less in the new exhaust but its minimal. I have to say what most people think of as quicker is just down to noise I've been a victim in the past you just have to do tests to realise this.
If you have a dci 65 best get an intercooler before a superchip and make sure you get a custom remap as a 65 + intercoler with good mapping will make a fair bit of power.

So getting a Viper before remapping will make little to no difference ? In which case, I might aswell book with superchips now.
