PS3 Help needed...

I have a PS3 connected via HDMI to a samsung tv, Its plays blu rays no issue at all but when playing games or dvd I have intermittent sound or sometimes no sound at all?!? Any ideas??

I've tried holding the power button down to see if it resets but no different!

May be the connector on the PS3 or the lead.

my original-spec PS3 sometimes gives bursts of static on the screen, then corrects itself, no idea why..... irritating though
