But that still remains to be seen, the fact is on paper the ps3 is the more powerful system and i think developers will try to exploit that before giving in and making a game for another system then handing it down to the ps3 regardless of current sales figures.
And if it is to be the case where it is designed for something else then made secondarily(sp) for the ps3 then it doesnt change the fact the ps3 is still the more powerful option at present and therefore, should there be any difference between the original format and ps3 version it is likely to be minimal, if anything.
Who says the PS3 is more powerful on paper? Only the Sony marketing BS about being twice as powerful by looking at a very narrow part of the performance.
The heater fans in my brothers Aygo blow twice as strong as the ones on my Clio so does that mean the Aygo is twice as powerful?
There is plenty of detailed technical info on the web that will tell you about the systems power as a whole and when used for real world applications as opposed to the power of one individual processor for running a certain limited type of process.
Which equates to nothing if you are playing a game without talking to someone.
I am afraid you are wasting your time. Playstation owners have always been of the "Sun reader" type and just won't get it!
They are a marketing mans dream.
Japan doesn't really count though, does it?
Put any game out there with some big-eyed girl(s) and some bizarre scenarios and the Japs will buy it in droves. If its cute - it sells. Us Europeans and the Yanks (to be fair) tend to like things a bit more cerebral than having Miss Yakeumachi and her three pet, fireball spewing dinosaurs, hopping from mushrooms to clouds.
I don't think price is a factor in Japan - fluffiness is. And for that, firms like Nintendo will always win. Hands down.
D.
b****cks to nintendo always winning(handheld market yes), look at the gamecube 21 million sold worldwide, ps2 111 million worldwide and 24 million xbox worldwide, course japan counts but have to agree with there s**t and very f*cked up games.

Aye, and everyones else is who contributes to Bill Gates making millions every second of the day, like a Bill Gates wet dream
And what exactly is a 'sun reader' type?
Of course the sales will plummet, there wont still be people queing a mile outside HMV to buy one like the release day.
I might be wrong but the figures are dropping because they are now reaching normal sales levels.
As far as developers are concerned it's true it is all about money, however there are always going to be developers with half baked licences (EA) creating multiformat productions and companies producing one format only software, regardless of how many units there are in the world, as they are often being backed by the manufacturer of the console who pay for marketing the game, which is what is going to sell their product at the end of the day. And so long as this happens there will be franchises which people will want to buy into whether that be Grand Tourismo or Halo, just like Sonic and Mario of years gone by people are going to have to buy that console to play it, and realise it or not any console (regardless of it's performance) is only as strong as it's support from single platform software franchises, you could have the most wizzbangyuptotheminute console sat under your TV but if you only have a copy of pong to play on it.....
who does ?
especially if you took £££'s taken, Sony have won on Revenue Nintendo on units.
indeed.especially if you took £££'s taken, Sony have won on Revenue Nintendo on units.
Unfortunately for Sony revenue doesn't mean a great deal, profits will be non-existent until they start shifting a serious amount of software.
Nintendo turn a mean profit on the Wii and DS consoles as well as the software (and not to mention the ridiculous number of Virtual Console games they are selling, despite IMO being very overpriced), I guess they need to make money on everything considering it's their only line of business.

Some facts and figures then.
Measures used calculate the number of 'floating point operations' that to you and me is the number of calculations it can do simultaneously, measured in teraflops, which is a number followed by 12 '0''s the xbox has 1 teraflop, the ps3 has 2.18, 100 times more powerful than the average pc.
cpu;
ps3 has cell microprocessor running 7 synergetic processing units @3.2ghz
xbox hasd ibm pc processor running 3 chips @3.2ghz
graphics
ps3 has NVIDIA and sony developed RSX chip at 550mhz
xbox has ATI designed chip at 500 mhz
both have 512mb memory
ps3 has 60gb hard drive
xbox has 20
disc format
ps3 50gb blu-ray
xbox 9gb dvd.
There you have it, its more powerful, we all know and knew beforehand the graphics were the same and weve all said there isnt much difference graphically.
But anyone who thinks the launch games are going to show the true potential is blinkered, many have said there is no difference which is a godd thing, most people accept the games will only get better, launch titles on any format are traditionally poor, but its a great sign of things to come if it can match the xbox on day 1 of launch.
I'd have thought the price may have something to do with that. Isn't it around 50-60K Yen as opposed to 16-17K for the Wii?b****cks to nintendo always winning(handheld market yes), look at the gamecube 21 million sold worldwide, ps2 111 million worldwide and 24 million xbox worldwide, course japan counts but have to agree with there s**t and very f*cked up games.
If its 'b****cks' then why do you say that the Wii is outselling the PS3 in Japan then? I was backing you up saying that Japan as a sales market is an oddball - it doesn't fit into the worldwide traditional sales pattern.
