Do i need my computer switched on to use this and the internet connected to?

does the xbox360 plug into the computer or does it plug into the phone socket?

would it still work if i am on the internet aswell?

is a 512k connection good enough for xbox360?

I am confused!!!

Thought this sounded like fun to play online, but thought it was best to find out about it before i buy one.

cheers!

ok, 1 at a time

1) depends, you can have it plugged into your pc, but then the PC needs to be on, easier to get a router.

2) yes

3) I had 512 for a while, no major problems just not advisable to host games

4) most will be

Depends if you have a router or not if you do .. no.. if you dont.. probably..

does the xbox360 plug into the computer or does it plug into the phone socket?

It uses a standard CAT5 network lead terminated with RJ45 plugs so its either plugged into a router or directly into your modem or via your PC.

It would if you had a router, or if you xbox was looped through your PC with the internet connection

is a 512k connection good enough for xbox360?

I would consider that the minimum, but yes..

I am confused!!!

You need an adsl router, the adsl moder plugs into that, then you plug your xbox and your PC into the router... then you dont need to have your PC on for your xbox to access the internet and vice versa.. you can also then use both at the same time although if you playing on live it would be a good idea to NOT have torrents downling or something else that network intensive. ;)

I hope to get hold of a premium pack in the new year. I have a 2mb connection which I use for wireless connection to the internet.

Presumably the 360 can use the router to connect to the net...can it go wireless?

Fooking pukka! WIll be having a go at that I think. Only thing is I've forgotten my router settings password!

You could go wireless as the xbox has a plug in addon module which makes it wifi.. but you would still need to buy a wireless adsl router ;)

Yeh, theres a wireless adaptor for it. About £50 i think!

Ye it bloody is .. ridiculous prices as its just basically a small antenna :( the xbox is already wifi ready.. it just plugs into the usb port at the back of the xbox.. next to the ethernet connection.
