Questions on buying a cup!!

Hi all,
I am probably gonna buy a cup on saturday, i know that they have stopped making them etc, but i am getting it through the renault family offer so will cost around £10,000, hehe, but i have a few concerns before i hand over my cash, i am a little concerned over no abs and a/c also i took a cup out 2 weeks ago and did manage to get me toe down, but it didnt feel as fast as a type-r that i took out around 1 month ago, the main reason for me buying one is the dicount factor, plus i am currently driving a turbo charged mx5 and wet weather and rear wheel drive dont go hand in hand so need to get rid before i end up in a field, i suppose really i just want to get a bit of encouragement that im making the right desision, i was due to buy an evo 5 next week but the running costs are gonna be horrendous so that now has been ruked out, i also just wanna know in the "real world" how quick are cups???

Cheers All

Rick:D

Quick!

Will keep up with CTRs but I think going EVO hunting wouldnt be a good idea! lol!

Hell of a car for £10K, can you get me one too. lol!

Cheers Tom,
Id love to say yes to getting you one, but dont think its possible, you know anyone who wants a mx5, cheap???

  Weeman sucks ****

Great fun, cheap to run. Maybe a bit plasticy but sod that, they go really well. And, for 10k that sounds superb.

I found the comparison the other way round with the typre R. I found I had to rev the pants off it to get it to go. Where the clio is so light, its so adjustable, and the boot aint to small either.

go for a cup or 172 i u want ABS.Climate etc..

CTRs are quick but boring, takes them awhile to get going. and every body seems to be getting one. This cant compensate for bad driving. When i mean everyone i mean spoilt boyracers, its too ugly and well £1200 just for aircon.

Thanks guys, for all the responces i did like the type-r just cause it felt like you had to rag it, but the clio is firm favorite because of the price, only thing that i am worried about is reliability, i ysed to have a 2.0 megane coupe which was great but always f@##kin up!! i suppose the advantage with a cup is that the warranty will cover anything going wrong..

your not gonna get a better new car for 10k
It is rapid.....Abs is for wimps!
I dont think mine is as much fun to drive as the MX5 (i used to own 1 as well). You can get more than a pencil in the boot tho!
Wot turbo is your 5 running/wot boost/bhp?
Really wanted to turbo mine!

As everyone has said already, a corcker of a car and a snip at 10k. You will not get a better new car for that price. :)

Thanks Guys,
I am almost convinced,

IANC, currently running around 12 psi and putting out about 244bhp with paddle clutch and trick diff.. bit scarry in the wet on the way to work. but firkin quick...

Cheers Rick

WOW!! I wouldnt sell it!!! The cup will be lame next to that!
Is it HKS or Greddy set up?
How much you selling it 4? wot year?

I bought mine for £10180 through the F1 friends & family.

£5K less than a CTR. No competition in my opinion. I drove both and didnt think there was that much in it.

never driven a CTR but if u want a little extra umph from the Cup get the Rsport ECU. Only £241 and well worth it. I am very happy with it.

Do a search for more info and opinion if youre interested.
