Quick alarm question

Ive been without my Central locking and alarm for a few months until yesterday when Renault "fixed" the central locking.

Quick question - Shouldnt there be a beep of some sort to show that the alarm has been activated? I hear the locks operate but nothing else.

Anyone? Tried to se off the alarm by opening the door using the key and all I get is a high pitch noise but no siren.

Nope only the locks and indicators on mine.

hi, theres no beep on locking/unlocking, and i dont think you can set the proper alarm off by opening the door with the key. you do get that high pitched beep though, if you want to set the alarm of wind the window down and lock the car, give it a little while to arm properly and then put your hand through the open window and it should go off, it might even go off without putting your hand in,because of air getting into the car

depending wat mk clio you got, but i know with the mk2 172/182 there are no beeps when ya lock/unlock the car unless the one of the doors/boot/bonnet isnt closed properly then it will beep for a long time to warn you. Also you can activate the alarm by unlocking the front passenger doors after about 1-2mins when ya lock the doors, as the alarm gives you this amount of time before it properly arms itself.
