Just after some quick advice, my girlf's 206cc has gone into garage today as it keeps blowing a fuse which covers all instrument dials, stereo, aircon, interior dash lights and hazard light switch.
The garage say its blowing because of the stereo, and everything else is fine. I expected this would be the easy way out they would take rather than actually looking into anything.
So, i need to find out some figures on the actual amount of power the head unit would draw, and how this compares to the standard unit.
Its a Clarion Cd/flip out TV head unit, and runs 2 amps. Now although the amps get their power direct from the battery, how much power is taken via the remote to turn the amps on? I believe this is minimal but was really after an actual figure??
Im sure that the headunit she has and the remote to the 2 amps, can't really use any more power than say the standard head unit with a changer attached, as the changer would also take its power through the head unit.
Also, its all been fitted for about 6 months with no probs, its just started blowing fuses in the last week!
Any info/advice would be greatly appreciated as have to pick the car up in a couple of hours, thanks
