Quick idea of bhp gain to mods!

Some of you may know my cup is at angelworks having throttle bodies fit, Ben emailed me my before RR results last night, as it stood when i took it.

2002 Clio 172 CUP, 77000 miles. (ish)

Mods were:

: ITG Maxogen air filter.
: Angelworks inlets / plenum.
: Straight through decat.
: Prospeed cat back system.
: GRP N mapped ecu.

190BHP, was pretty happy with that to be honest! Always seemed to go well, i had no idea!

Just an indication for those doing engine / breather mods!:)

thats a good amount of power mate. As said, bodies will make it awesome.

Think I'm gonna get a decat and remap after gettin the H&Rs and the belts done.

With regards to the remap, is it worth doing on a cup with just cat-back and ITG panel?

I am looking for a few more bhp but arent sure which route to take. Does the remap prove much more effective if combined with a decat?

See, told you it was a good un, and not a show pony like some on here thought ;). You'll only gain 10bhp with bodies now ;) :rasp: (joke)

Nice one m8...sounds about what I would expect from those mods imo. Mine has come out at pretty much 195/175 on two separate rollers about 6 months apart. Mine doesn't have the inlets but has the 182 mani....God I wish I could get TB's as well lol

I find out what mine is running on sunday woo, i'm expecting 30BHP+ extra with my ITG and yozzasport.

be nice to see a graph to see where it was RR'd and what it was RR'd on. I'm surprised people think those mods will give a genuine 190bhp going by the usual comments. Without cams it seems a little optimistic

You need to find some consistency in your comments. One minute its fine for a basically stock engine to those sort of figures, and now your surprised.

Anyway, Steve has the RR printout, he can do what he wants with it. I didnt do anything to his car previously, so it would be in my interest to down play the base power run if you really want to think about it.

on the contrary, I'm looking at others being consistent in theirs. Simple question really.

Where was this very healthy car rolling roaded? Did you get a print out or even an editable document for taking down the pub with you?

I swear the operators have a wee +30bhp button to press depending on how gullible the client seems.

Producing false base figures has its ups and downs. In my "expert opinion" if it really feels a lot faster then all these print outs and flexible files are a waste.

Are you having just TB's fitted, or are you going for cams etc as well?

How much BHP are you expecting increase with just TB's?

Guys you've missed the point. Its only a BEFORE mods read out. Like Ben has said it would actually be in his interest for the car to have had a LOWER read out, thus making the ITB conversion seem more sucsessful. This was my old car and had every 182/172 it came across. It was MUCH better than the 182 that preceeded it.

Sm, its just having itbs, no real need for cams. Aiming for around 220ish bhp iirc. Maybe like all these GDI cars that have bang on 220 ;)

Its had a grp N since 2005. There were no other off the shelf stuff out there other than super chips. The grp N is what P Murray's is based i bet.. They are all just tweeks of the original map. I did feel a difference. Worth while with the mods it had.

I do have a copy of the print out, and to be honest i dont care what it made! Was just interested to know!!

As we all know, different rolling road's / operators are different! No one said it was gospel!

sm wrc, decided for the bodies instead of cams etc, there is sod all gains with cams really so went in feet first and got ben on the bodies job!! Hoping for beetween 210-220, but aint overly worried on output, its going to be more than before, and think of the NOISE!!!

Cams on there own without bodies i meant!, compared to bodies on there own without cams!:)
