there is glass everywhere, luckily the tint has held most of it together.

how can i go about getting this sorted asap? wana avoid insurance if possible unless they have some special thing for windows?

cheers.

I think mini-valver has his windows smashed. He got it all sorted on his insurance. Search for that thread or PM him is my advise.

Sorry to hear about it though, I am sure it is hassle and expense you do not want!

yeah still absolutely fuming, i would have still been asleep now but the neighbour woke me up at half 6 to tell me... i was out at the car at about 2.30am getting some things too...

think an alarm might be the next step, seeing as renault thought it wouldnt be a good idea to fit one as standard

  172 mk2 Iceberg
if it was mine

I would get a window from the scrappys for about 30 quid and fit it myself

no point unless its the windscreen telling the insurer

  Better than yours. C*nt.

Sorry to hear what happened mate, but the first thing you should do when modifying your car is fit some form of alarm - as you're essentially making your car more desirable!

yeah i know, ive been meaning to do it...

...dont think anyone in my street has had their car broken into for years,

then in the last 2 months mine gets wingmirrors smashed off, tyres slashed, wipers snapped off and to top it all off a window smashed last night.

would it be possible to fit an renault alarm, like ones that come with 182's etc so i can just use my normal central locking blip instead of having an extra one?

theres lots of alarms that work off the mfr,s keyfob
so you wont need to use two fobs

just talk to your local alarm center

Do you drive like a c**t? As that's a surefire way to make sure your car is targetted, along with driving close to home with your stereo turned up as people work out there's a lot of kit in your car...

lol?

NO, i dont drive like a c**t.

NO, i am not a chav who has all windows down an sub up full and music on its loudest possible.

YES, there are too many little pr**ky chavs round here who are f**king jelous

Hey, it was only a couple of questions... A lot of 'victims' are people who drive like idiots right up to their front door and it's their neighbours and other local residents that take offence and damage the car - as 'revenge'.

And I didn't suggest you were a chav - I listen to my music fairly loud (albeit standard stereo) but when I get close to where I'm stopping I instinctively turn it down a) for concentration and b) so as not to attract unnecessary attention.

I wasn't insinuating that you did either of the above, just more of an idea of where these things tend to happen...

yeah its alright lad wasnt getting at you just still a bit pissed off lol

pretty quiet round here everyones old and you just get the odd chav hanging round on the park behind the estate... saying that, next door neighbour but one got both their mercs nicked in one night, both 56 plates. walked in their house took the keys and drove it off. apart from that its dead round here :dapprove:

sorted it through insurance, just gotta pay £75 for it  a payout i didnt want to have to be making right now...

autoglass cant come out either, ive gotta take it to their place ugh.

Jealous little s***s, really winds me up!

I know how gutting it is, it happened to my last car. But most insurance companies have a £50-£60 excess which doesn't affect the no claims. Hope you get it sorted.

Has

  RS 182 - Black Gold
Front window from CliopSpares are only £25 dude !

Cheaper then any excess on your insurance.....

Should be covered by your window cover if your fully comp. But will cost you between £50-95 to go through insurance.

**********EDIT*************

Just read you sorted it through insurance :(

If your tints were declared then make sure they put some back...

Even if they were declared they wont put them back on the front window.

Clio Mk2 front windows are 28.9% tinted from factory. Legal Limit is 30%.

true about the tints, they are declared but wont replace. place i had them done only want £35 to re-do it so its not bad.

also just wondering about this...

i was looking at the side of the car at all the scratches which are pretty fooking deep, im guessing they have leant over and pieces of glass have just done it.. but anyway, i saw this hair stuck to the side of the door... i looked up and in the top where the window seal is (like where the window goes down into) there was another hair near enough exactly the same...

just wondering if it would be possible to go to the police with them? im guessing they have leant over to get into the car and if a hair was on their top or something its just got stuck there... but is it possible to get the police involved or is it a no-go?

im also guessing its probably someone who has done this sort of thing before, so may have a police record?

thoughts please... :)

luckily i was just driving home and saw one of them community support officer people... stopped him and he put it all through.. seemed a pretty sound guy.

hes organised for me to drop the hairs i found off at the station, and they are going to dust down the door or something to see if they can find anything.

just have to see what happens i suppose.
