I think it works in the 172 anyway. Its just the engine management, not the rest of the stuff. Hillpower can tell you more I believe, as they are offering a supply & fit deal.Quote: Originally posted by JJ172 on 05 September 2003
Anyone have any news on when itll be available for the 172 (not Cup)?
I didnt get a chance to speak to R-Sport @ Donnington, but Im hoping itll be out soon, otherwise itll have to be a save-up-and-go-for-Roamers-throttle-bodies option!
According to an earlier post elsewhere, the Cup ECU has a few less functions than the 172 one, hence the incompatibility.Quote: Originally posted by telford_mike on 06 September 2003

Phoned R-Sport today, who werent able to comment as the main contact wasnt in (Jonathon). I asked if their ECU worked on a Cup with AC - surely the first tell-tale sign that it would also work on a normal 172? Well see what they say tomorrow...
But did they lift the bonnet ???Quote: Originally posted by pep87 on 11 September 2003

I went out in it and it was damn quickQuote: Originally posted by JJ172 on 11 September 2003
If the R-Sport car was the one with the daft stick-on bonnet vent, then it wasnt that quick. I remember from Donningon that it was behind me a few times and certainly didnt have enough extra power to out pace me on the straights.
