R19 16v engine probs

allo all, ive got a 19 16v and im having engine problems is fine on tick over, and ok driving normal but if u put your foot down to overtake the power just goes and dies, and jurks, any ideas to what could be wrong and a price,??

Sounds like maybe fuel starvation?

could be but forgot to mention it will only rev to 4half grand revs when not in gear, (not had chance to try it in gear due to not accellerating properly) and revs fine upto that

What happens after 4.5K does it just not rev anymore or? :S

If it stops at 4.5k are you sure it's not your rev counter thats wrong? I know it's usually pretty clear by listening but someone had this problem before - though the power loss seems to suggest there is a genuing problem.

Try asking over on retro-renault.co.uk as they are well into their 19 16v's over there.
