R27 price slips

  Golf R
Just wondered whether Renault are struggling to sell the R27... seems to be deals around on them... most knocking them out at a basic price of £13995.

Or is this just an attempt to clear the decks of the final few cars before the launch of the cup packed 197 soon?

Either way, not a bad price but gutting if you were one of the first to order and paid full list price!

I think it's bullshit personally.. I can't see ANY dealer letting one go for less than £14,995.

EDIT - Ah the guy from Newcastle. Everything is not as it appears. I believe those prices are only honoured if you trade in your current Renault at a ridiculous PX price.

I've been talking to a few dealers and none of them have been anywhere near that price. Even on F & F it's not that cheap. Pre reg maybe, but even then they are charging that for pre reg 197s at a lot of dealers. Second hand 197s are still going for £13k at dealers, £12.5k being the cheapest I've seen and that was over 12 months old and an ex demo. It did have Recaros.

Pricing amongst dealers is all over the place. There's no consistency at all.

Well i was a bit suspect of the cheap pricing they keep quoting but at no point in my enquiries have they mentioned anything about trading a car in... hmmmm, interesting

yup i agree... there is a lack of consistency and i know what the F&F pricing is... which has made me wonder how exactly they're offering these prices?

I only say that because there's another dealer advertising R27's cheaply but the PX prices he was offering was a joke.

That said that dealer had a selection of them in stock and this dealer, £13.995 chap, obviously doesn't and doesn't state how long you'll have to wait.

i suspect it'll be order now, receive it in 2 months+ ... they were offering deals on cancelled orders but even they werent as cheap as these prices

As discussed with FunkyMonkey via PM the cars are available starting at £13,995 plus options, tax etc. No strings p/x anything like that you got the money come get the car. PM or post if you want any further details.

p.s. They are clearing awaiting the cup.

are they doing a 197 cup, (poverty spec interior etc) or are they doing 197 with cup packs??

the cup is the main thing holding me back from ordering anything atm.

Just go buy the new Glacier White Megane R26 available September with full leather, the 197's look terrible for a 17-18k car:dapprove: . Megane all the way!!!. Could'nt justify spending that much money on 197.:rasp:

You mean Cup pack'd 197. They've got a long wait for the proper Cup.

LOL, How amusing is this lee.

Cup this cup that.

Personally i cant see what the fuss is about, a clio turbo with 7speed box is pretty normal these days.

looks like the dealers aren't getting the right info filtered down to them from RUK then from what tomhunt is saying

We have been told early next year for the cup but at the end of the day it's gonna be like an R27 in terms of suspension set up and chassis etc (probably but I will stand corrected if somebody knows more than I do lol) but has less spec so is cheaper. If that is the case then surely a really cheap R27 is a cup with a load of freebies?

There is no concrete spec for the Cup yet.

Oddly enough I was talking about this yesterday with a man in the know.

Dealers are never the first to find out anyway. Even the press find out before the dealers. lol

well yeah, as they say the r27 has a cup suspension setup, so the way i see it the cup will have that geometry, super basic spec, cloth interior, no traction control and no abs (i hope) at be about £14,000 no?

r27 is just too much money for me atm, hence waiting for the cup.
