R5 coversion





just wanted to know if there is alot of work involved in replacing the 1.8 16v with the R5 turbo engine, ie - what needs changing for the conversion, cheers

Its quite an involved job, if youre going for big power out of it though, you may be better off with a BB 16v turbo conversion. If you arent going to do it yourself you are probably looking at 3k for the conversion; that should cover donor car, rebuild and basic mods.

If you want much over 190-200 brake, id go straight for BB unless you can find a highly modded, decent power, mint donor car for ~3-4k. If you get the right car with good exterior and interior mods or a mint standard exterior you might get 1-2k for the rolling shell.

a lot depends on what you want done to the engine and how much you pay for the donor car
